The Department of Commerce was established in 1995 with the primary objective of fostering an optimal learning environment for commerce and career-oriented subjects, in response to the evolving trends in education. The department consistently updates its curriculum in accordance with the Choice-Based Credit system, maintaining a commendable success rate. Notably, our alumni occupy influential positions in reputable organizations. Students undergo comprehensive training, preparing them to actively engage in cultural, extracurricular, and sports activities, resulting in numerous accolades for both the department and the college. Additionally, the department offers M.Com, enhancing educational opportunities. Emphasizing holistic development, the department encourages participation in co-curricular activities to nurture problem-solving, reasoning, critical thinking, creative thinking, communication, and collaborative skills. With a track record of achieving over 90% results, the department continues to excel year after year.

Applicants who have passed B.com./B.A. Cor. Sec. /B.com A&F./B.C.S./B.B.A./ B.B.M./B.A.(Co.po) B.Sc Computer Science / B.A. Industrial Organisation / B.Sc. Maths / B.C.A./ B.Sc. Statistics with any two core / main papers offered at B.Com Level [above courses recognized by the University of Madras or any other university recognized by the syndicate as equivalent there to]

  • PO1.To provide in-depth understanding of all core areas specifically Advanced Accounting, International Accounting, Management, Security Market Operations and Business Environment, Research Methodology and Tax planning.
  • PO2.To enable the students to get exposure towards working independently and in a team through team work, also develop employability skills and industry interaction.
  • PO3.The graduates will get employability skills by attaining hands on experience in various aspects such as skills for Marketing Manager, Sales Manager, Bank Manager, Cost Accountant, Academicians, Project Management, Research Analysts, and over all Administration abilities of the company.
