Eco Club was inaugurated on 11.01.2017 by Vice-Chairman Er.V.Prasanna Venkatesh,B.E., Dr.M.Uma and Mr. Govindarajan, President, Exnora Greater Chennai. It was organized by Dr. T.Arulmozhi, Former HOD, Department of Microbiology.

Objectives

• To arouse love and responsibility towards nature.
• To create awakening in young minds for preserving and conserving natural environment and to make them more sensitive towards the surrounding.
• To promote the conservation of water by minimizing the use of water.
• To create awareness of biodiversity conservation and local environmental issues.

Roles and responsibilities

• To involve Eco club students in open orientation programmes in schools and public areas and to organize tree plantation programmes, awareness programmes tjrough painting competitions, rallies etc., regarding various environmental issues.
• To create a ‘clean and green consciousness’ among students through various innovative methods.

Mission

• To motivate the students to keep their surroundings green and clean by undertaking plantation of trees.
• To promote culture of conservation of water by minimizing the use of water.
• To maintain cleanliness in and around the campus.
