Prince Shri Venkateshwara Arts and Science College has Entrepreneurship Development Cell started in August 2016.

Our ED Cell was inaugurated on 02-02-2017, Dr. K. Rajaraman, I.A.S., inaugurated the function and felicitated by Mrs. Vijayathilagam, in the presence of Chairman Dr.K.Vasudevan, Vice Chairman Dr. V. Vishnu Karthik and Er. V. Prasanna Venkatesh and Principal Dr. Uma Baskar.




The Orientation Program is designed to support new students as they begin their new journey at college. During the course of the program, we gradually introduce new students to the entrepreneurship and the related activities. Our College Conducted the Orientation program for the Ist year students on 21-06-2017. Around 800 students attended the program. Conducted by Mrs. S. Lakshmi, ED Cell Coordinator and Mrs. M. Theboral Victoriya, Facilitator, ED Cell.




This year on 27 June “MSME International Day” was celebrated. Those enterprises, which generally employ fewer than 250 persons, are the backbone of most economics worldwide and play a key role in the development of the country. The program was conducted at Le Royal Meridien. Attended by Mrs. S. Lakshmi, ED Cell Co-ordinator.




Entrepreneurship Development Cell Orientation program was conducted on 01-07-2017. The felicitation and investiture was done by Mr. L. Singaram, Commissioner, Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection. Key note address was delivered by Mrs. J. Vijayathilagam, Manager, Department of civil supplies and Consumer Protection. Certificates were issued to the students who won the various competitions by Mr.Anton Piva, Deputy Commissioner, Department of civil supplies and Consumer Protection.




Ed cell conducted Entrepreneur Talk for the ed cell member. Around 300 students attended the program. Mr. Kishore Kumar, who is an entrepreneur presided over the function and delivered the lecture. Students were benefitted from understanding the pros and cons of taking entrepreneurship as profession. The program was for three hours (10.00a.m. to 1.00 p.m.)




National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC). NSIC is the nodal office for several schemes of Ministry of MSME. They conducted many programs for the college students to encourage them to take up entrepreneurship as profession. NSIC conducted orientation program in our college on 29-08-2017. Mr. S, Subramanian conducted it. Around 350 students participated in the program and benefitted.



Anna University Hub conducted E-Leadership Training for the Ed Cell Members to prepare them to take up Entrepreneurship as profession. Four Students from our college participated in the event.

  • Entrepreneurs’ Day, an insofar American holiday, was started in 2010 by David Hauser and Siamak Taghaddos, co-founders of Grasshopper, the entrepreneur’s phone system, as well as Amir Tehrani, entrepreneur and co-founder of The Legacy Foundation. On this day, entrepreneurs are encouraged to thank mentors, give funding and advice, and spread the word about how to achieve success in business. People who are not yet successful entrepreneurs might want to read the biography of a particularly successful business man or woman in order to inspire themselves. Five students participated in the National Entrepreneurship Day’17. Conducted at Ramada Plaza, Guindy, Chennai




    The ED Cell of our College and the Pidilite Industries organized a one-day workshop for the interested students. Mrs. Jayashree Narayanan, Fevicryl expert teacher gave the training to the students on “Jewellery Making and Bottle Deco”. 145 students took part in the program.

    Anna University Conducted a Three days Faculty Development Programme (FDP) from 25-10-2016 to 27-10-2016. Two Faculties attended the training programme.




    CONPEP'2016 – 02-09-2016 – An event organized by CCC. On that day ED Cell members were encouraged to open up shops for eco-friendly products and heritage foods. Around 30 shops were opened by the members. The ED cell members got good exposure to run stalls.




    National Consumer Day – 06-01-2017 – National Consumer Day was celebrated by CCC on that day also ED Cell members exhibited their names by running food stalls.




    Awareness Programme by KVIC – 12-01-2017 – KVIC conducted an awareness programme on "Innovative Entrepreneurship" for ED Cell members. Totally 143 members attended the programme.




    Now ED Cell has a membership of 174 Students. It is expected to grow further in the coming years.
