The Citizen Consumer Club of our college was incorporated by the Department of Commerce during the Academic year 2015-2016. The club was inaugurated by Thiru. L. Singaram, Deputy Commissioner(City) South, Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection, Government of TamilNadu on 01.08.2015.

Silk Mark is a consumer protection measure initiated by Ministry of Textiles, Government of India and is sponsored by Central Silk Board. Silk Mark label is an identification label for 100 per cent pure silk product. It is felt that educating a girl student is as good as educating the entire family and since it is felt appropriate to educate them as they will be the consumers of silk in the near future. As our college has a majority of girl students, Citizen Consumer Club felt the need to organize such a program to educate them. Hence, Citizen Consumer Club in association with “Central Silk Board” organized a one day consumer awareness programme on the “Importance of Silk Mark Labels”. Girls from all departments participated in this session.
The Citizen Consumer Club of our college in association with “Bureau of Indian Standards” organized a one day ‘Educational Utilization Programme’ on “BIS Product Certification and Hallmarking”.on 15.12.2017.BIS strives to inculcate standards, culture into young minds and to sensitize them on impact of standards on life and society.
It endangers the human activities. The consequence of Climate change result with Water Scarcity, Energy Shortages, Global Warming, Drought, Pattern of rain fall, Food Security, Health Issues, etc., In this regard the Citizen Consumer Club of Prince Shri Venkateshwara Arts and Science College organized one day seminar in association with Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection on “Impact of Climatic Change in recent years – Educating the youth for Mitigation and Adaptation” on 8th September 2017 in the College Premises.
CAG – Citizen Consumer and Civic Action Group invited our college CCC members to participate in the Rally organized by them on Friday, 1st July 2016 from Kannagi statue to Light House on the Marina Beach to create awareness on Road Safety measures.
120 members of CCC of our college participated in the Rally consisting 85 boys and 35 girls along with 3 faculties.

Eight members and two faculties of our college participated in the seminar conducted by Citizen Consumer and Civic Action Group in Anna Institute of Management, Chennai on 24.03.2016 on the topic "Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection".
The Valedictory Function of Citizen Consumer Club was conducted along with Farewell Ceremony for final year students on 08.03.2016, in the presence of Thiru. Gangai Amaran, Music Director, Lyricist, Director and Actor. Tmt. J. Vijayathilagam, Superintendent, Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer protection distributed the prizes for the winners of various events.
